Waves In The Sky Book Review

RATING – 4/5

AUTHOR: Rakhi Jayashankar

Rakhi was born in a small town in Kerala. Born and brought up as a quintessential small town girl, she had always been ambitious and goal-oriented. After her masters in Biotechnology and Business Administration, she joined as an HR recruiter in a consulting firm. Her eight-year-old love life blossomed into marriage in 2010 and she joined her husband’s family business. Blessed with two children, she is a full-time mother and an author. Her passion for literature made her the author of the poetry collection Un-assuaged – The blossoms of my imaginations.

Time maneuvered their lives through unforeseen circumstances. The canaries – Charu, Ananya, Neha, Avantika, Raihana, and Yami – the heart and soul of Naiyedya, run by Ms. Malini. They played together, studied together, stayed together, under the shades of their mother banyan, till they fell apart. Little did they know that they would be centrifuged by the waves in the sky. Hanging on to their mother banyan, they held their wings together and fought the storm.

Waves In The Sky is an amazing book with a twist of mystery. You will be back to your school days and as the story unfolds it will play with your emotions. The plot of the story is amazing and the way Rakhi managed to describe each and every event and character in the book is beautiful. The idea of adding a murder in the story came like a twist in the contemporary women book, and it worked. The author has used many social topics in the book without diverting away from the plot which is very commendable. The cover of the book could have been better and adding some more twists could have lightened up the entire story. Overall, Waves In The Sky is an amazing read and you can't give it a miss if you have or had a group of creative girls in your school days.
