The Sixth - The legend of Karna is an EXTRAORDINARY BOOK with a completely new angle to the legendary hero Karna's story. Karna is one of the central characters in the Hindu epic Mahābhārata. The epic describes him as the king of Anga (present day Bhagalpur and Munger).
Being born and brought up in Munger, I can totally relate to the story of Karna. But, the creativity with which the author has shaped his interpretation of Karna makes this book one of the best work in Indian Mythology.
I really liked the idea of keeping two different stories running together with a totally different situation (Modern & Historic). It is always tough to maintain the pace and connection while writing two different stories but I think the author has already mastered in it.
The plot of the book is really amazing and this book being the first part of "The Karna Trilogy", the author has maintained the suspense with "To Be Continued" tag in the end. I just can't wait to read the next one.
Talking about the characterization, I think it is MINDBLOWING. Every character seems to have some important connection with the protagonists (Karan & Karna). On the other hand, the language used by the author is top class and the author has good command over it. His perfect writing style adds the required touch to his book.
Apart from this, I also loved the sketches which are used throughout the book. It displays an outlook of the characters and situations of the moving story. Creative!
The cover of the book is really beautiful and portrays strong emotions which are beautifully connected to the story. It shows how Karna was separated from his mother Kunti and was left in the floating water. The other most impressive point of the book is the title; The Sixth. It shows how Karna being the eldest among Pandavas was considered to be the sixth when his identity was revealed.
Overall, I loved this book and was baffled to know about the fact that the manuscript of this book was rejected by 12 publishers before it was approved by Leadstart. Indian publishers really need to take Indian Writing seriously.
The Sixth - The legend of Karna is a MUST READ! So go ahead and buy this book from Amazon now.
