RATING - 4/5

AUTHOR: Faizan Malek

Born and brought up in Vadodara, Gujrat, 16-year-old Faizan Malek is a budding poet. Currently pursuing the science stream, his passion for writing commenced when he was as young as 9 years! Faizan wishes to achieve great heights in the writing field as he feels one with it and describes poetry as a feeling. Teenage Musings is his first book.

Teenage Musings encompasses various facets of life, love, and friendship seen through the eyes of a teenager. Written as poetry the book also focuses on the beauty of nature and brings in a new range of thoughts.

Son, I've seen the cloud that cries,

And I've seen the brightest sky,

Son, I've seen the luminous days,

And I've seen the darkest nights.

Teenage Musings is a collection of 33 beautiful poems which portrays different colors of life. Once you start reading them you can feel the connection with nature and its various aspects.

What amazed me most was the fact the author is just 16-years old. Even after being a teenager he has maintained the level of poetry. I think it is a wonderful gift to the poetry world.

Now let's talk about my top 10 poems of the book:

1. Natural Greatness

2. Freedom

3. Beauty of Life

4. Love or Friendship

5. Suicide Bomber

6. To My Child

7. My Crush

8. My Shadow

9. Monsoon

10. The End

The language used by the author is very subtle and decent which makes it really easy to connect. The author has used multiple formats of poetry for different poems which I think is very creative.

The poems are very light and you can feel positive vibes around you after reading them. I also appreciate the imagination of the author who chose to incarnate numerous phases and shades of life from a very different angle through his poems.

Overall, I think Teenage Musings is an amazing collection of meaningful poems. I would like to recommend this book to every poetry lover. Go ahead and buy this book from Amazon now!
