Q. Characterize yourself in one word?

Learner – I get immense gratification when I learn something new.

Q. Please describe what the story/book is about in one sentence.

Travel along with Noya Agnihotri in her pacy and roller-coaster journey where she rediscovers herself and relationships.

Q. Briefly, what led up to this book?

I can say that it is the love of reading. I’m an avid reader since primary years. I lived in the world of stories, engrossed in it while reading it. Enid Blyton and Anant Pai made me addicted to books as their books were amazingly creative and captivating. It is so inspiring. So gradually as I crossed years of life, I realized that I wanted to become a storyteller and became one. I manage to finish a book within hours of starting it. I had a pause when I joined corporate job but now again

Q. What was the time frame for writing this book? Tell us an interesting detail or two, if applicable. For example, did you finish the first draft after one week?

I wrote the story in two months. That was the easier part. The difficult part was finding a publisher to accept the book for publishing since I chose the traditional route. Srishti Publishers accepted it and I’m grateful to the team, as anything first in life is the most memorable and it helped me attain the dream of holding my very own book!

Q. Looking back, what did you do right that helped you break in?

I take life as it comes and that is why I’m an optimistic person. The moment I’m in is always due to my own choices and decisions. So I learn from the experiences of life and this helps me grow as an individual – personal and professional both.

Q. Did you have a platform in place? On this topic, what are you doing to build a platform and gain readership?

This is my first book so I’m learning along the journey. I realize writing the book is one part, reaching readers is the other challenging part and that is where your efforts help in reaching the readers. I’m using social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter etc. to connect with the readers. I have my own website www.nehannayak.com

Q. Favorite novel?

I have many. I learn something from each and every novel so it is hard to pick one. But I want to dedicate my ’favorite’ tag to Enid Blyton, whose writing got me addicted to books. I still read her books.

Q. Something more about you?

I work as a senior quality manager in a Tata group company. I’m also a trainer of ISO standards and Total Quality Management vehicles.

Q. What’s next?

I have completed another novel of contemporary fiction genre. I’m also writing a sequel to Breaking Free. I want to explore other genres in writing and so want to write a crime thriller as the genre is of my interest as well.

Q. Future of SALISMANIA.com through your eyes?

The literary magazine.
