Q. Characterize yourself in one word?

Q. Please describe what the story/book is about in one sentence.

No matter what you do or who you are, there are no boundaries if two people are destined to be together.

Q. Briefly, what led up to this book? What were you writing (and getting published, if applicable) before breaking out with this book?

I have been known for my imaginative skills and storytelling capabilities. It was an urge to project those capabilities on a larger canvas and deliver it to a broader audience.

Before this book, I wrote “Destined to depart” on the journey of Tanvi and Manav which performed as similar as a debut is expected to do.

Q. What has been your biggest achievement?

I guess I haven’t achieved anything significant in terms of awards but yes, the appreciation and the respect from others has been the most encouraging part.

According to me, a review, no matter positive or negative is the biggest treasure for a writer. I too received many reviews/feedbacks and listening/reading to those makes me feel contented.

Q. Looking back, what did you do right that helped you break in?

Kaizen - Continuous improvement. I kept on working on the script until I felt like, yes this is the one.

I asked for assistance from the people with knowledge. It took many years, believe it or not, for me just to reach out and say “I’m not sure what to do from here.” Now I feel unstoppable!

Q. Did you have a platform in place? On this topic, what are you doing to build a platform and gain readership?

I launched social media pages a few months before release date. It was fairly intimidating - I knew no-one in the business, had zero connections and did not belong to any writing groups. But everyone starts with zero. At least that's what I learned in these many years. On a lighter note, there's no audience to witness your goof-ups, so it’s a fantastic time to learn.

Today, I have 9.1K likes on “Raina – The light of my soul” Facebook page.

Q. Favorite novel?

The Fountainhead - Ayn Rand

Q. Something personal about you people may be surprised to know?

In 12 years of schooling, I have changed 7 schools and I have lived in 3 different states. I'm always on the go. I love exploring new places, learning about them, and then moving on!

Q. Future of SALISMANIA.com through your eyes?

I see SALISMANIA as a great platform for the authors and the ones who aspire to write. Tapping the untapped and making them aware about the process is a great job. I wish SALISMANIA a great success in future.
