Glorious Uncertainties Book Review

RATING – 4/5

AUTHOR: Peekay (Prashant Kumar Singh)

Peekay (Prashant Kumar Singh) hails from a family of political leaders and bureaucrats. After his schooling in Kanpur, he graduated from Allahabad University in political science and philosophy. As per the family tradition, he spent a few golden years of his life attempting to get into civil services after completing his MBA from Delhi. After unsuccessful attempts in civil services exams and a couple of entrepreneurial projects, he switched to the corporate sector and became a banker. He currently manages the Wealth Management portfolio of a leading bank in India. He counsels on parenting, career and relationship issues, which has helped many and has earned him the title of ‘Banker b profession but Human Behaviourlist by nature’. This is his debut novel.

After winning the Miss Bangalore title, Garima Pradhan is offered a lead role in a movie. She resists the temptation preferring to complete her MBA course. She then takes up a job at a bank where one day she meets Deven Herai a high-value customer in a most unromantic situation. The two nevertheless fall for each other soon and after a brief courtship, they tie the knot. Garima is soon disillusioned… she finds herself reduced to a trophy wife… Unfazed with the difficulties, she fights back and emerges victorious, and discovers the purpose and peace in life.

GLORIOUS UNCERTAINTIES as the name of the book says the story itself is uncertain. It’s not a regular book which is forcefully stuffed with ‘mirch-masala’ to sell more copies in the market. It is a book which will leave you smiling and will inspire you to ‘BE THE CHANGE’. It’s common that we depend on politicians and government officials to change the social image of the country, but Garima Pradhan chose it the other way. She worked hard and harder to be the change and she didn’t lose hope on her failures.

Peekay proved that there are authors who really care about our nation. The cover of the book is perfectly based on the books real story and it cannot be more perfect than this, loved it. The story touched my heart and mind. The story was beautiful and inspirational. Until the very end of the book, I was expecting something unexpected to happen, some mirch-masala, but the book follows the famous dialogue of the Salman Khan starer Dabangg – “Ek Baar jo maine commitment kar di, toh main apni bhi nahi suntan (If once I make a commitment, I don’t even listen to myself). This is the thing I loved most about the book.
