Deepti Menon is the author of two books, Arms and the Woman and Deeparadhana. She has worked as a journalist with several publications and is now a freelance editor. Short stories with deft twists and tongue-in-cheek articles that tickle the funny bone are her forte. Deepti lives with her family in Chennai.

It all begins with a death. Nita, a pregnant woman falling from her balcony becomes the string that unravels the plot. Her death casts a shadow over many lives; her heartbroken father, her husband, and Vinny, a young journalist, drawn in by the whiff of foul play and murder.

What follows are stories within stories, eras, and worlds colliding with each other, leaving behind splintered relationships and mesmerizing slices of lives that appear to be drawn together and driven apart by the whimsical threads of destiny.

As events cast their shadows ahead to link the stories of Vinny, Kavita, Roma, Krish and Nita in an unrelenting knot, a journey starts to uncover the truth.

From intimate diary entries and letters to bantering over a meal and sharing memories while spring cleaning, this novel de-familiarizes the ordinary, presenting a kaleidoscope of our own pasts, broken edges and pulsating hearts.

Shadow in the Mirror is a fusion of thrill, love, friendship, and hatred. It is a reflection of the true world and its challenges.

The plot of the book revolves around a murder of a pregnant woman and everyone linked to it. The concept is very new and you will love the way each and every word is expressed in the book.

Many social topics are also covered in the book without breaking the flow of the story which is remarkable. The language used in the book is phenomenal and you will feel as if you are inside the story while reading it. Don't dare skip a line.

On the other hand, I found the book inspired by the Hollywood film 'Orphan'. It is a better and desi version and will give you chills.

Each and every character in the book is beautifully described and you will love the way all the characters are inter-linked to each other. It adds more mystery and excitement to the story. I loved the character of young journalist Vinny.

I also found the title of the book 'Shadow in the Mirror' very catchy and the cover goes perfectly with it.

Overall, Shadow in the Mirror is a book which will thrill you. So, go ahead and buy this book from Amazon now!
