Q. Characterize yourself in one word?
Dreamer. Q. Please describe what the story/book is about in one sentence.
The story is about the resilience of love that can sustain through the toughest times of life and power of love that can make you accomplish things that you, never in your wildest dreams believed you could. Q. Briefly, what led up to this book? What were you writing (and getting published, if applicable) before breaking out with this book?
I have been known among my friends’ circles for my imaginative skills. Love is a magical feeling and I just wanted to know what happens when love is subjected to a ruthless test. I wanted to explore the resilience of love. ‘A walk in the rain’ is an outcome exploration of the depth of love. Q. What was the time frame for writing this book? Tell us an interesting detail or two, if applicable. For example, did you finish the first draft after one week?
It took around two and half years for me to complete the book. Since I was in a busy IT job, I had to squeeze hard for time to spend on writing. When I finished writing the word count came to 1.2 lakh, which was high for any Indian publisher to accept. For reducing the size, I had to rework on almost the whole book. Q. Looking back, what did you do right that helped you break in?
Never gave up. That’s what I did. I faced many challenges and disheartening experiences. I took them as learning tools instead of hurdles. That kept me going. Q. Did you have a platform in place? On this topic, what are you doing to build a platform and gain readership?
I trust the content and also that book with good content will be appreciated by the readers. I’m trying to reach out to the readers through various means. You are one of them. Q. Favorite novel?
Difficult to name one. But I’m a fan of Dan Brown. Q. Something personal about you people may be surprised to know?
I can’t think of anything personal that I can name now. But professionally, I had spent 16-18 hours each day to accommodate my book writing, along with my official commitments, each day. Q. What’s next?
I’m working on a psychological thriller which I plan to complete by this year end. Q. Future of SALISMANIA.com through your eyes?
SALISMANIA.com is doing a great job. I see you moving in the right direction towards a larger goal. Good luck to you.
