INTERVIEW:

Q. Characterize yourself in one word?

Faodail (It's a Scottish word but I guess it perfectly suits me)

Q. Please describe what the story/book is about in one sentence.

'King of Hearts' is one such tale which will fill your life with hope when you believe you're failing in life, love or friendship.

Q. Briefly, what led up to this book? What were you writing (and getting published, if applicable) before breaking out with this book?

'King Of Hearts' is my second book before this I wrote Post-Apocalyptic Thriller, 'Pl Let Me Go' which was also India's first book based on Post Apocalyptic genre.

Q. What was the time frame for writing this book? Tell us an interesting detail or two, if applicable. For example, did you finish the first draft after one week?

It took me around a year to complete this book. One thing which most people don't know about 'King Of Hearts' is that it is being adapted from one of the short stories which I had written when I was in college studying filmmaking. I had to make few changes here according to the present time.

Q. Looking back, what did you do right that helped you break in?

Reading and writing. I started reading at the age of nine and started writing when I was in seventh grade. I started with love letters. I used to write them for pocket money. All the juniors and seniors in my school used to approach me for writing those letters so that they could impress the girls. That was the beginning and then came the poetries, and short stories. Later, I pursued Professional Scriptwriting For Films Course and then did Masters in Filmmaking. So, it was always about the stories.

Q. Did you have a platform in place? On this topic, what are you doing to build a platform and gain readership?

I don't follow any plans for gaining readership or making fans. I just go my instincts and guts. I prefer to let my words do the talking. If people like what I write, they'll come and stay otherwise they don't, and I don't mind that. I am a self-published author and it's the only drawback is that it's hard to find large numbers of readers. But I believe it's just the matter of time and patience. One has to keep writing the good stuff and bring it out in the open for the readers. If you're really good, eventually, people will notice you and your work. Because I'm a firm believer in - "This world needs stories and they'll find you if you've got one. Simple as that". I don't like to socialize much with people. I don't do small talks or make friends. I don't make promises which I can't keep.

Q. Favourite novel?

There are many and it's really hard to name one - but still, these are my favorite ones; The Millenium Series from Larsson, Jack Reacher series, The Bridges of the Madison County, Brida, The Alchemist, If I Stay and several others. The list will never end.

Q. What’s next? I'm working on 'The Killer Trilogy' - The first book in the series "KANSA' will release in early 2017. It's about a serial killer and it's all I can say right now.

Q. Future of SALISMANIA.com through your eyes?

The way it is going right now, I believe SALISMANIA.com will soon become one of most favorite places to hang out for youth, for whatever reason may it be; lifestyle, literature, entertainment or reviews.
