INTERVIEW:

Q. Characterize yourself in one word?

No-nonsense.

Q. Please describe what the story/book is about in one sentence.

It’s based on the true life events of East Asian expatriate labors, their quest for fortune, their daily struggle, their exploitation, dreams, sacrifices, helplessness, destiny & the impacts on their life. Q. Briefly, what led up to this book? What were you writing (and getting published, if applicable) before breaking out with this book?

I am working in Gulf (UAE) since last 9 years. My workplace allows me to deal with all kinds of expatriates like Whites, Indians, Bangladeshi, Pakistani & Sri-Lankan’s. While doing so I came to know about how they landed in Gulf. The situation back home and the pathetic living & working conditions shocked me. It was something which I wanted the world to know about-Kerala Gulf Diaspora.

Q. What has been your biggest achievement?

I guess it’s the book –The 365 Days. More than an achievement it was a feeling of satisfaction. My passion- which I had cornered for so many years finally found a way.

Q. Looking back, what did you do right that helped you break in?

The book was the result of many weekends which I was wasting doing nothing. The story was around me. I just needed to pen it down.

Q. Did you have a platform in place? On this topic, what are you doing to build a platform and gain readership?

I am using my social and professional network platforms to promote the book.

Q. Favorite novel?

All books of R.K.Narayan.

Q. Something personal about you people may be surprised to know?

I do a lot of diet.

Q. What’s next? A fiction novel based on real events with social issue content.

Q. Future of SALISMANIA.com through your eyes?

I expect SALISMANIA.com will become a strong platform to reach the right kind of readers in the literary world. It will evolve as a medium connecting new generation aspiring authors, readers, publishers & reviewers.
