INTERVIEW:

Q. Characterize yourself in one word?

Observer (a keen observer of human behavior and material & spiritual surroundings to search plots and stories for the novels). Q. Please describe what the story/book is about in one sentence.

Reasons for more than 50 percent of crimes in the world are "Greed Lust & Addiction" (materialism approach) and how we can eliminate these crimes by adopting "Virtues, Values & Morals" (spiritualism approach) - 'Victory over vices makes you champion'.

Q. Briefly, what led up to this book? What were you writing (and getting published, if applicable) before breaking out with this book?

I have heard and read a lot about many famous international personalities such as Steve Jobs (co-founder of Apple) and Mark Zuckerberg (Chairman and CEO of Facebook). They went to Uttarakhand in the Himalayas to learn spirituality under the patronage of ashram gurus and yogis, soon after which they became very successful, renowned and wealthy personalities.

I was embarrassed to know that foreigners understood the importance of the spiritual powers of gurus and yogis in the Himalayas, but despite being a native of Uttarakhand, I never understood their role and significance.

For around fifteen years I conducted extensive studies, research, investigation, and interacted with many Himalayan yogis and ashram gurus. Finally, I found the secrets to spiritual peace and material wealth, and the way to inculcate virtues and values, and how to eradicate vices such as greed, lust, and addiction.

I wrote a non-fiction book "Secrets of a Healthy, Wealthy & Happy Life"

During my stay at the ashrams in Rishikesh, Haridwar and up the hills of Himalayas, I interacted with some renowned international personalities and came to know about their real-life experiences. On the condition of anonymity, they agreed to share their enlightening experiences and stories for the benefit of global readers and citizens and hence I decided to write this fiction novel "Greed Lust Addiction" in English and "Laalach Vaasana Lath" in Hindi.

Q. What has been your biggest achievement?

My readers called me and informed that the novel is written after a lot of research and extensive studies on the unexplored subject of 'materialism versus spiritualism'. Q. Looking back, what did you do right that helped you break in?

I have over twenty-five academic and professional qualifications. I am a fellow member of seven international institutes active in the field of arbitration, mediation, corporate services, cost, and management accountancy, ship broking, etc.

My background from Uttarakhand, a famous spiritual place in India; multiple qualifications in economics, political science, laws, commerce, and so on; over two decades’ experience as an international commodity trader; courses in creative writing; and keen interest in entrepreneurship, psychology, philosophy, and spirituality helps me to be a well-versed and fully equipped author to write nonfiction and fiction books in the domain of ‘materialism vs spiritualism’, keeping in mind both the sensual and spiritual pleasure of the global readers, with learnings on how to live a healthy, wealthy, and happy life.

Q. Did you have a platform in place? On this topic, what are you doing to build a platform and gain readership?

‘Materialism versus spiritualism’ is an unexplored and untried subject and a lot of research is required to deal with this subject which I did for over 15 years. Social media is the biggest platform in today's virtual world to spread awareness and I am relying on this with the help of Salismania.com.

Q. Favorite novel?

Fiction: I have read over 100 novels last year. I am a fan of author Premchand who focussed his writing on the contemporary issues of his time in a very simple and lucid style which I have also tried through my novel "Greed Lust Addiction" and "Laalach Vaasana Lath".

Non-fiction: "How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Del Carnegie.

Q. Something personal about you people may be surprised to know?

Humour is the best healer in today's stressed life so exploring 'stand-up comedy' as a part-time hobby.

Q. Future of SALISMANIA.com through your eyes?
