Q. Please describe what the story/book is about in one sentence.
To do one's duty in the best possible way irrespective of the results.
Q. Briefly, what led up to this book? What were you writing (and getting published, if applicable) before breaking out with this book?
Besides being a new immigrant who was trying to settle in a new country, I was moved by the cultural, religious and other divisions dividing the people around the world. This book is my effort to elucidate the vastness of human emotions and how challenges in life bring out best in them.
Q. What has been your biggest achievement?
I am a doctor and now also a budding author. But my biggest achievement is being a good mother to my children!
Q. Looking back, what did you do right that helped you break in?
I followed my passion without worrying about my past failures.
Q. Did you have a platform in place? On this topic, what are you doing to build a platform and gain readership?
I am sure most of the authors out there never have a ready-made platform and they work really hard to create one for themselves. For this book, I am trying to spread the word about the heart touching story on various social media platforms in an attempt to read maximum readers.
Q. Favorite novel?
In The Country of Men by Hisham Matar
Q. Something personal about you people may be surprised to know?
I used to suffer from inferiority complex in my younger days. I worked hard on myself to face my demons and eventually evolve into a person that I am today.... To be just being myself rather than any other identity. Spiritually helped me a lot in my journey.
